IRIS GOLD COLOR TRIP

Iris Gold got off to super-solid start earlier in the summer when her sparkling debut track, 'Goldmine', first appeared online and snagged her live shows supporting the likes of Blur and Taylor Swift. Now that memories of warm weather have all but faded, Iris is back with 'Color Trip' a bolder, more soulful take on the hooky sundrenched pop she brought on 'Goldmine'. Filtering Lauryn Hill's knack with a laidback slow jam through the lens of '60s and '70s psychedelia and hippy culture - Gold was brought up in Copenhagen among the free thinking Christiana commune - 'Color Trip' feels like an acid-loaded wander through the woods with trippy slide guitar riffs melting away into smoky shrouds of vintage synth. Lyrically, it's all incense, magic crystals, flowers, you know standard bohemian stuff, or as Gold says, 'Basically what I'm into.' We dig it, too. - DC
